CAS:2,2'-Thiodi(4-tert-octylphenol) is an industrial chemical that has been used as a stabilizer for inorganic bases. It can be used to neutralize acidic solutions in water phase reactions and organic solvents. 2,2'-Thiodi(4-tert-octylphenol) is also a water pollutant which can be removed by extracting it with an organic solvent. The extracted 2,2'-thiodi(4-tert-octylphenol) can then be treated with an inorganic base to remove the contaminating salts.
