5-Undecanone
CAS:5-Undecanone is a reaction product of the organic compound methyl ethyl ketone and inorganic hydrochloric acid. It is an intermediate in the synthesis of salicylic acid, which is used as an anti-inflammatory and analgesic. The 13C NMR spectrum of 5-undecanone was obtained by performing chemical shift analysis on a sample dissolved in DMSO. The spectrum revealed that the molecule contains two hydroxyl groups and one acetaldehyde group. The 5-undecanone has a molecular weight of 128.2 g/mol, with a melting point of -12°C. This chemical can be synthesized by reacting methyl ethyl ketone with hydrochloric acid for 4 hours at 130°C.br>br>The silicone reacts with butyllithium to produce 5-undecanone when heated at 160°C for 24 hours.br>br>5-Undecanone has been shown to react withFormula:C11H22OPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:170.3 g/molRef: 3D-IBA08383
