CAS:(E)-Thiothixene is a drug that belongs to the class of serotonin reuptake inhibitors. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of various neurological diseases, such as Parkinson's disease, dystonia, and depression. (E)-Thiothixene binds reversibly to serotonin receptors in the brain and prevents the reuptake of serotonin into nerve cells. This leads to an accumulation of serotonin at synapses, which increases the neurotransmitter's availability for binding with receptors on other neurons. (E)-Thiothixene also inhibits acetylcholine release from neurons in rat striatal tissue by acting on nicotinic acetylcholine receptors on presynaptic terminals. It also has a redox potential that is similar to pyrite, a mineral found in coal deposits. (E)-Thiothixene can be used for laser ablation of carboniferous rocks and minerals containing pyrite.Formula:C23H29N3O2S2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:443.63 g/mol(E)-Thiothixene
