CAS:4-Nitrocatechol is a reactive chemical that has been used as an analytical reagent for the detection of nitrite ions. It reacts with nitrite ion to form stable complexes, which can be detected by titration calorimetry. 4-Nitrocatechol has also been used as a model for study of reaction mechanisms and coordination geometry.
