CAS:4-Fluorophenethyl bromide is an antagonist that blocks the binding of agonists to β-adrenoceptors. It has been shown to be a potent and selective antagonist of the β-adrenoceptor, with little effect on other receptors. This compound has been synthesized by reacting 4-fluorobenzeneethanol with ethyl bromoacetate, leading to a product that has a high affinity for β-adrenoceptors. In animal studies, 4-fluorophenethyl bromide was found to be selective for the trachea, inhibiting airway constriction responses in rats.
