CAS:3-Methyl-2-butenoyl chloride is a coumarin derivative that was found to have significant cytotoxicity in vitro. It inhibits the synthesis of DNA and RNA and also induces decursin, which leads to the death of cancer cells. 3-Methyl-2-butenoyl chloride has been shown to be effective against cancer cells in a number of different tissues, including the skin, bladder, sarcoma cell, and bone. The compound's synthetic pathway has been elucidated through nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) and it is thought that this may be due to its ability to inhibit the enzyme propionyl coenzyme A carboxylase. This enzyme catalyzes the conversion of propionyl coenzyme A into succinyl coenzyme A. 3-Methyl-2-butenoyl chloride is also known to have antiinflammatory properties.Formula:C5H7ClOPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:118.56 g/molRef: 3D-FM29933
