(Methoxymethyl)(triphenyl)phosphonium bromide

(Methoxymethyl)triphenylphosphonium bromide is a promising drug candidate for the treatment of cancer and bowel disease. It inhibits the activity of estrogen receptor, which may be useful in the treatment of breast cancer, prostate cancer, and other cancers. (Methoxymethyl)triphenylphosphonium bromide also has anti-inflammatory properties that inhibit muscle cell proliferation and reduces pain in inflammatory bowel disease. It has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in animal models at doses that do not have significant side effects. This drug can also be used as an antineoplastic agent in cryptococcal meningitis.
