CAS:Isopropalin is an analytical method used to detect picolinic acid (PA) and is a good indicator of the presence of PA in urine samples. Isopropalin is also used to measure PA levels in the tissue culture. PA, a quinone, can be formed by the oxidation of fatty acids. It has been shown that inhibitors of polymeric matrix can reduce the formation of PA from fatty acids. The reaction mechanism for PA formation begins with the addition of anhydrous sodium to a solution containing fatty acid and oxygen. The final product is 2-picolinic acid, which reacts with water to form picolinic acid. This reaction can be inhibited by compounds such as herbicides and tobacco smoke.Formula:C15H23N3O4Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:309.36 g/molRef: 3D-IBA82053
