Triphenylcarbenium tetrafluoroborate, 97%
CAS:It is applied in the abstraction of the-H atom of alcohols and their O-substituted derivatives results in oxidation to the ketones and in the oxidation of TMS ethers to ketones, secondary alcohols to ketones, and secondary diols to ?-hydroxy ketones. It is applied as a reactant involved in the synthesis of substituted dihydroazulene photo switches, carbene-based Lewis pairs for hydrogen activation, 1,3-Dipolar cycloaddition reactions for preparation of α-amino-β-hydroxy esters, oxidation of allenic compounds, Mukaiyama aldol addition reactions and ionic hydrogenation as a counteranion and ligand source. CAS:Triphenylmethylium tetrafluoroborate (TPTB) is a cationic polymerization agent that can be used to synthesize polymers. TPTB is synthesized by the reaction of diphenyl sulfoxide and triphenylmethyl chloride. The product has been shown to form covalent adducts with various diazonium salts, including phenyldiazonium tetrafluoroborate. TPTB also reacts with carbohydrates and hydroxyl groups to form the corresponding products. The structure of the product is analyzed by x-ray crystallography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GCMS). The carbonyl group in the product can be removed using acidic hydrolysis, which provides additional information about the reaction mechanism.Formula:C19H15BF4Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:Yellow PowderMolecular weight:330.13 g/molRef: 3D-FT60620
