    CAS:
    Methylpyrimidine-5-carboxylate is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that binds to the nitrogen atoms of the active site. It selectively inhibits the activity of protein kinases, including tyrosine kinase. Methylpyrimidine-5-carboxylate has been shown to have high inhibitory activity against tyrosine kinases, and it exhibits potent inhibition against a number of tumor cell lines in vitro. Methylpyrimidine-5-carboxylate inhibits enzymatic activity by alkylating the hydroxyl group on the active site as well as binding to the chloride ion. This drug has shown no signs of toxicity in animals and is currently being studied for its use as an anticancer drug.
