CAS:Pigment Orange 5 is a colorant that belongs to the group of glycol esters. It is used in wastewater treatment and in the production of paper, textiles, and plastics. Pigment Orange 5 is soluble in water and has a strong affinity for particles. This property allows it to be used as an analytical method for particle size analysis. Pigment Orange 5 also has a strong absorption at 230 nm and can be detected by spectrophotometry or radiation-absorption measurements. The pigment can be identified by agglutination reactions with blood cells from the group P2 (e.g., sheep erythrocytes), which are coated with antibodies against proteins from this group. Pigment Orange 5 undergoes hydrolysis by hydrochloric acid in aqueous solution to form glycolic acid and glycerol, with the former being oxidized to form fatty acid, which gives it its hydroxyl group.Formula:C16H10N4O5Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:338.27 g/molPermanent Orange
