Ticarcillin
CAS:Ticarcillin is a drug that belongs to the group of antimicrobial agents. It is used as an antibiotic for the treatment of infections caused by gram-positive bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Clostridium perfringens. Ticarcillin has been shown to have no effect against some gram-negative bacteria, such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Ticarcillin binds to bacterial ribosomes and inhibits protein synthesis, leading to cell death by inhibiting the production of proteins vital for cell division. Ticarcillin has been shown to be effective in treating tissue infections in mice, although it is not active against bowel disease-causing bacteria such as Escherichia coli or Shigella species. Ticarcillin also has been shown to cause resistance in mutant strains of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli through multidrug efflux pumps that pump out tetracyclineFormula:C15H16N2O6S2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:384.43 g/molTicarcillin free base
