It has been shown to have mesomeric properties. 3,5-Dichlorophenyl isocyanate reacts with hydrochloric acid to form an enantiomer in the reaction solution. The lc-ms/ms method can be used to identify this enantiomer by measuring its nmr spectra and magnetic resonance spectroscopy. 3,5-Dichlorophenyl isocyanate also has low energy nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) properties that are well suited for magnetic particles.
