CAS:Benzoin methyl ether is a crystalline compound that can be used as a cross-linking agent in coatings and adhesives. It has been shown to have optical properties, such as a high refractive index and good light transmission. Benzoin methyl ether has been used as an assay device for the determination of hydroxyl groups. FTIR spectroscopy shows it to have a divalent hydrocarbon structure and aromatic hydrocarbon side chains. The kinetic data of benzoin methyl ether was determined using an assay device, which showed binding constants at various pH values. Benzoin methyl ether also undergoes radiation-induced cleavage reactions with the release of benzene and formaldehyde, which can lead to its formation of polymers and oligomers. Cleavage products were observed microscopically, which may be due to the polymerization reactions that are catalyzed by benzoin methyl ether's hydroxyl groups.Purity:Min. 95%Ref: 3D-FB63043
