2,3-Dichlorooctafluorobutane
CAS:2,3-Dichlorooctafluorobutane (2,3-DCAF) is a potent nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist. It has been shown to potentiate the effects of desflurane in human serum and expressed Xenopus oocytes. 2,3-DCAF inhibits glutamate release from nerve terminals and enhances the effects of acetylcholine on postsynaptic neurons. 2,3-DCAF has also been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the activity of brain enzymes called phosphodiesterases (PDE). This inhibition leads to increased levels of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), which causes thermogenesis as well as an increase in heart rate and blood pressure.
