Methyl 2-amino-4-nitrobenzoate is a polyfunctionalized and efficient compound. It is an anthranilic acid derivate that has been shown to be active against thiazole derivatives. This compound inhibits the chloride ion channel, leading to an inhibition of cellular respiration that may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of ATP. In addition, this compound also releases nitric oxide and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects.
