CAS:Hydroxybupropion is the hydroxy metabolite of buproprion. It is an atypical antidepressant that acts as a norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor, and also has some nicotinic receptor activity. Hydroxybupropion is effective in the treatment of depression, with a lower incidence of side effects than standard antidepressants such as SSRIs. The drug has been shown to be effective in the treatment of ADHD and hyperactivity in children, but it is not approved for this use. Hydroxybupropion is mainly eliminated by hepatic metabolism and its plasma half-life is approximately twice that of buproprion, making it more suitable for once-daily administration.Formula:C13H18ClNO2Purity:Min. 98 Area-%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:255.74 g/mol
