CAS:3-(3,5-Dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-3-oxopropanenitrile is a synthetic pyrazole derivative that has been shown to have anticancer activity. The compound was synthesized by reacting ethyl bromoacetate with primary amines in the presence of an oxidizing agent such as phenacyl. This reaction produces oxidation products, which are postulated to react with the active methylene group in the pyrazole ring to produce a chlorinated product. This chlorinated product is then reacted with triethyl orthoformate and heated for a short time at high temperature to produce 3-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-3-oxopropanenitrile.
