N-[2-(Benzoylamino)-6-benzothiazolyl]-tricyclo[3.3.1.1(3,7)]decane-1-carboxamide
CAS:The bacterial strain CLOSTRIDIUM PERFRINGENS is a Gram-positive anaerobic bacterium that causes gas gangrene. It is often found in soil, sewage, and the intestinal tracts of humans and other animals. The bacteria produce a neurotoxin called tetanus toxin, which causes muscle spasms and can lead to death. Clostridium perfringens is susceptible to erythromycin, which inhibits the bacterial ribosomal activity by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. The trajectory of this bacterial strain has been studied using population analysis. This antibiotic has also been shown to be effective against vancomycin-resistant clostridium, although it is not active against staphylococcus aureus or enterococci.
