2-Chloro-6-fluoroaniline is an organic solvent that can be used for the debromination of compounds. It is also a cox-2 inhibitory agent and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. 2-Chloro-6-fluoroaniline is produced by the reaction of chlorine with 2-chloroaniline, which produces hydrogen chloride gas as a byproduct. The optimal reaction conditions are at room temperature in a sodium hydroxide solution. The reaction vessel should be made of glass or plastic, and the mass spectrometric analysis should be done using electron ionization (EI) mode. The product isomers are acetylated and fluorinated, and the react time should be around 1 hour.
