CAS 363-81-5: 2,4,6-Trifluorobenzenamine

2,4,6-Trifluoroaniline is a catalase inhibitor that can be used to measure the activity of this enzyme. It has been shown to have carcinogenic activity in rats and is mutagenic in bacteria. 2,4,6-Trifluoroaniline reacts with hydrochloric acid to form ethyl esters, which are used for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy. This chemical also has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Techniques such as X-ray crystallography have been used to study the reaction mechanism of 2,4,6-trifluoroaniline.

2,4,6-Trifluoroaniline was used in the synthesis of 3-nitro-2,4,6 -trifluoroacetanilide; eries of N?-phenyl-N-(1- phenyl cyclopentyl)-methyl ureas and 4-substituted 2,6-difluoro N-aryl pyridinones.
