(S)-2-Methylpiperidine-L-tartrate is an optical isomer of the tartrate salt. The tartrate salt can be synthesized from l-tartaric acid and (S)-2-methylpiperidine by heating in a sealed tube at 100°C to 120°C under reduced pressure.
