3H-Benzo[4,5]thieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4-one is a small molecule that is a potent antagonist of the WNT/β-catenin signaling pathway. It binds to the ATP binding site on the β-catenin protein and prevents it from interacting with TCF/LEF transcription factors, which prevents gene expression. 3H-Benzo[4,5]thieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4-one has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth in vitro and in vivo. This drug also has anticancer activity against breast cancer cells by inhibiting proliferation and inducing apoptosis.
