CAS:Nickel(II) acetate is a coordination compound that has potent inducers of carcinogenesis. It has been shown to bind with nucleophilic groups on proteins, such as the hydroxyl group on tyrosine residues, and the carbonyl group on serine residues. The nickel ion then coordinates to these groups by means of hydrogen bonds. This binding inhibits enzymes such as DNA polymerase and RNA polymerase, which are needed for cell division and protein synthesis. Nickel(II) acetate has been shown to accumulate in the ovary, which may be responsible for its carcinogenic activity.Formula:C4H6NiO4Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:176.78 g/molAcetic acid, nickel(2+) salt
