6-Aminohexanamide is a multifunctional compound that has been shown to have insulin-like growth factor activity, amide activity and a substrate film. It has been used as a viral vector in vivo and in vitro. The process of crystallization may be improved by the addition of caproic acid. 6-Aminohexanamide has been shown to inhibit influenza virus replication in vivo and in vitro, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of new influenza virus particles. This compound also inhibits the production of phenylephrine hydrochloride (PEH) by influenza virus at concentrations of 1-10 µM.
