CAS:Controlled Product(1R,2S)-2-Phenyl-cyclopropylamine hydrochloride is a histone deacetylase inhibitor that reverses the effect of acetylation on histone proteins. It also has been shown to increase levels of growth factors and neurotrophic factors in cell culture, which may be due to its ability to increase mitochondrial membrane potential in cardiac muscle. This compound was found to induce pluripotent cells from mouse embryonic stem cells (mESCs) and human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs). Furthermore, it has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of fatty acids in mitochondria by inhibiting the activity of fatty acid synthase.
