(4-Chloro-phenyl)-oxo-acetaldehydeoxime is a thiosemicarbazone that has been shown to be effective against the H1N1 pandemic. This compound has been shown to bind to the influenza virus and block its ability to infect cells by interfering with the fusion of the viral envelope with the host cell membrane. (4-Chloro-phenyl)-oxo-acetaldehydeoxime interacts with the lipid bilayer of influenza A viruses, enhancing membrane permeability and causing leakage of viral contents.
