1,3-Dibenzoylbenzene
CAS:1,3-Dibenzoylbenzene (1,3DBB) is a carbonyl compound that has been used as an indicator for phase chromatography. The substance is a white crystalline solid with a melting point of about 170°C. It is soluble in water and hydrochloric acid, but insoluble in ether. 1,3DBB has a density of 1.86 g/cm3 at 20°C and a refractive index of 1.5118 at 20°C. In solution form, it has the same properties as benzene and can be used to identify benzene derivatives by nutation experiments or by comparing their densities to those of 1,3DBB. This compound is also isomeric with 3-dibenzoylbenzene (3DBB), which differs only in the orientation of its carbonyl groups on the ring. The conformation of 1,3DBB can be changed by thermPurity:Min. 95%Ref: 3D-FD30731
