    CAS:
    Thieno[3,2-b]thiophene-2,5-dicarboxaldehyde is a novel biomimetic compound with an electron deficient heterocyclic ring. It has been shown to have optical properties that are dependent on the type of irradiation and can be used as a photocatalyst for the production of hydrogen from water. Thieno[3,2-b]thiophene-2,5-dicarboxaldehyde also has high electrocatalytic activity and is able to reduce electron deficient molecules in aqueous solutions. This compound was found to have a linear range that extends up to 20,000 nmr units and can be separated using gel permeation chromatography. Thieno[3,2-b]thiophene-2,5-dicarboxaldehyde also has high reactivity towards alkynes and alkenes and can be used as an acceptor in nanosheets with various architectures
