CAS:Phenyl N-hydroxycarbamate is an inhibitor of histone deacetylases (HDACs). HDACs are enzymes that catalyze the removal of acetyl groups from lysine residues on histones, which are proteins that package DNA into chromatin. Phenyl N-hydroxycarbamate has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of HDACs and can be used in neuroprotective therapy. Phenyl N-hydroxycarbamate has a low solubility in water and is not readily absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract, so it must be administered intravenously. The compound is metabolized slowly, with an elimination half-life of about 1 day. It is eliminated primarily through metabolism to phenyl acetic acid and phenyl oxalic acid. Phenyl N-hydroxymethyl ketone is an enantiomer that also inhibits HDACs but does not undergo metabolism as quickly as phenyl N-hydroxycarbamate.Formula:C7H7NO3Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:153.14 g/molPhenyl N-hydroxycarbamate
