CAS:(8S,10S,13S,14S,17S)-9-Fluoro-17-(2-Hydroxyacetyl)-10,13-Dimethyl-2,6,7,8,11,12,14,15,16,17-Decahydro-1H-Cyclopenta[a]Phenanthren-3- One is a metabolite of (8R) and (8S) fluoroephedrine. It has been postulated that this metabolite may be the active form of fluoroephedrine. This compound has been shown to have mineralocorticoid activity in vitro by stimulating sodium and potassium uptake in isolated rat kidney cells. The activation energies for 8R and 8S are -6.4 kcal/mol and -6.1 kcal/mol respectively.
