CAS:3-Methyl-2-benzothiazolinone hydrazone hydrochloride monohydrate is a diazonium salt that inhibits the activity of tyrosinase. It is used in pharmaceutical preparations as an inhibitor molecule to treat skin cancer. This compound has been shown to inhibit the production of melanin, which protects cells from damage by ultraviolet (UV) radiation. 3-Methyl-2-benzothiazolinone hydrazone hydrochloride monohydrate binds to tyrosinase and prevents it from forming radicals, which are necessary for the formation of melanin.
