2,3-Dimethoxybenzyl chloride
CAS:2,3-Dimethoxybenzyl chloride is a reactive chlorine compound that can be used to make a variety of organic compounds. The chloride gas is generated through the catalytic reduction of piperidine with hydrogen chloride in the presence of a palladium catalyst. This reaction is mediated by an alkali metal, such as sodium or potassium. The demethylation of 2,3-dimethoxybenzyl chloride can occur by the addition of an alkyl halide and base to give methylene chloride and phenol. The use of 2,3-dimethoxybenzyl chloride has been shown to be effective in treating allergic reactions by inducing hyposensitization.Formula:C9H11ClO2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:186.64 g/mol2,3-Dimethoxybenzyl chloride
