CAS:3-Methyl isonicotinic acid (3MI) is a chemical compound that can be used in skin care products. It acts as an agonist at the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, and has been shown to have coligand activity for the intestinal nicotinic acetylcholine receptor. 3MI has also been found to be a potent inhibitor of cryptococcus neoformans growth in culture. 3MI has antimycobacterial activity against mycobacterium tuberculosis and other mycobacteria, with its inhibitory effect on the growth of Mycobacterium avium complex being weaker than that on Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The drug appears to act by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell wall components, such as lipids and glucuronoxylans, which are essential for their survival. 3MI is not active against bacteria that do not synthesize these components or those with a cell wall made up of proteins only.Formula:C7H7NO2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:137.14 g/molRef: 3D-FM25518
