3-(tert-butyl)benzene-1,2-diol
CAS:3-(tert-Butyl)benzene-1,2-diol is a monophenolase inhibitor that has been shown to be effective for inhibiting tyrosinase activity in bacteria. 3-(tert-Butyl)benzene-1,2-diol inhibits the oxidation of aromatic hydrocarbons by hydroxyl radicals, which are generated from hydrogen peroxide and catalyzed by metal ions. It also has antioxidative properties due to its ability to scavenge free radicals. 3-(tert-Butyl)benzene-1,2-diol reacts with sodium hydroxide to form an aromatic carboxylic acid and a tertiary alcohol. Many of the chemical reactions involve the formation of esters or amides with amino acids. The FTIR spectrum shows peaks at 1743 cm−1 (C=O), 2940 cm−1 (C=O), and 2932 cm−1 (C=N).Formula:C10H14O2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:166.22 g/mol
