The 1,10-dibromodecane is also used as a starting material for the synthesis of polychlorinated dibenzodioxins and polychlorinated dibenzofurans. Hydrogen bonding between hydrogen atoms on one molecule and the hydroxyl group on another molecule have been observed in this chemical compound.
