1,2,4-Triethoxybenzene
CAS:1,2,4-Triethoxybenzene is a colorless liquid that is soluble in water and has a pleasant odor. It is used as an intermediate for the production of other chemicals. 1,2,4-Triethoxybenzene can be prepared by reacting ethylene oxide with malonic acid. The reaction proceeds through two steps: first the malonic ester reacts with ethylene oxide to form the hydroxyethyl derivative; then this compound reacts with more ethylene oxide to form 1,2,4-triethoxybenzene. This process can be carried out in one step by reacting ethylene oxide with sodium methylmalonate. 1,2,4-Triethoxybenzene is also used as a reagent in organic synthesis reactions such as halogenation and reduction reactions.Formula:C12H18O3Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:210.27 g/mol
