CAS:Tolimidone is an enzyme inhibitor that binds to the active site of the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase. It inhibits the synthesis of cholesterol, leading to reduced levels of LDL and VLDL cholesterol. Tolimidone has also been shown to reduce plasma glucose and pro-inflammatory cytokines. This drug is currently being investigated as a potential treatment for high cholesterol and diabetes.
