TPTZ is luminescent when exposed to UV light and its emission spectrum is dependent on the environment. TPTZ has been synthesized by organic solution chemistry and by transfer from inorganic materials. The organic solution synthesis involves the formation of TPTZ from an organic ligand and triazine.
