2-Methoxypropanoic acid
CAS:2-Methoxypropanoic acid is an isomer of propanoic acid, which is a carboxylic acid. It is oxidized to form 2-methoxypropionic acid and methoxyacetic acid. The health effects associated with 2-methoxypropanoic acid are not well known, but it has been shown to affect the central nervous system in animal studies. It may also cause respiratory irritation in humans. 2-Methoxypropanoic acid can be converted to its glucuronide conjugate by glucuronidase enzymes and metabolized by methyl ketones as well as alizarin (an orange dye). The analytical method for 2-methoxypropanoic acid has been developed and its toxicity studied.Formula:C4H8O3Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:104.1 g/mol2-Methoxypropanoic acid
