    1-Bromo-4-fluoro-2-nitrobenzene is a synthetic compound that can be used in a variety of chemical reactions. It can be synthesized by the hydrogenation of n-hexane and 1,1,2,2,-tetrachloroethane with a nickel catalyst. The reaction system is heated to reflux for 3 hours. The reaction yield is about 97%. The filtrate is then dehydrated by heating at 120°C for 3 hours and the solvent is removed by distillation. This compound can also be obtained from the reaction between chloride and carbon tetrachloride in an organic solvent such as chloroform or ethyl acetate. Synthetic methods include reacting nitric acid with bromine and hydrochloric acid with sulfuric acid to produce 1-bromo-4-fluoro-2-nitrobenzene.
