It has been shown to react with hydrogen peroxide by absorbing light and emitting fluorescence. The 2-fluoropyridine-4-boronic acid pinacol ester has an x-ray diffraction pattern that consists of one sharp peak at 2θ = 11.2°, which corresponds to the molecular structure of the compound. This probe is also able to emit luminescence when exposed to channels in a solid state, and its quantum yield is 0.1%. The steady state fluorescence emission spectrum for this probe has a maximum at λmax=532 nm, with a quantum yield of 0.1%.
