3-(1H-Pyrazol-3-yl)pyridine
CAS:3-(1H-Pyrazol-3-yl)pyridine (PPY) is a potent and selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). PPY has been shown to inhibit COX-2 activity with an IC50 value of 0.4 μM. PPY does not inhibit COX-1, which is responsible for the production of prostaglandins that maintain the normal function of the stomach and intestine. PPY also has a low safety profile, with no significant effects on the heart or kidneys in animal studies. The compound is being developed as a potential treatment for inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. The drug was originally discovered by screening chemical libraries for compounds that could inhibit COX-2 activity. Molecular docking studies have shown that PPY binds to the active site of COX-2, preventing access to substrates and thereby inhibiting catalytic activity.Formula:C8H7N3Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:145.16 g/mol3-(1H-PYRAZOL-3-YL)PYRIDINE
