CAS:3,4-Pyridinedicarboximide is a synthetic molecule with antinociceptive properties. It is structurally related to the natural compound L-tyrosine and is a member of the lactam class of chemicals. 3,4-Pyridinedicarboximide has been shown to be active against tuberculosis in mice and other animal models. It also has anti-inflammatory effects that are mediated by its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. This drug is an analog of phenylacetic acid, which is a known anti-inflammatory agent. 3,4-Pyridinedicarboximide has been tested in human volunteers for pain relief and did not show any adverse effects on blood pressure or pulse rate.
