CAS:Sodium metaphosphate is a chemical that inhibits the growth of microorganisms. It is used in food preparation as an additive, and in vitro as a preservative for cell culture media. Sodium metaphosphate has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria, yeast, and fungi at concentrations as low as 0.2%. This drug also has anti-oxidant properties. The inhibitory dose for sodium metaphosphate is dependent on the type of organism being tested. For example, the inhibitory dose for Escherichia coli is about 1% while that for Candida albicans is about 2%.Formula:NaO3PPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:101.96 g/mol
