CAS:3,5-Dichlorobenzoic acid is a trifluoroacetic acid derivative that is used as an antimicrobial agent. It has been shown to be active against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. This compound inhibits the growth of bacteria by reacting with amino groups on proteins, which prevents the formation of essential cofactors such as ATP.
