CAS:3-Amino-2-cyclohexen-1-one is a synthetic chemical that has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity and to be a powerful nitrosating agent. It was synthesized by the reaction of nitrite ion with two equivalents of acetonitrile in the presence of diazonium salt. 3-Amino-2-cyclohexen-1-one reacts with nucleophiles such as thiols, amines, or alcohols to produce nitrosamines. Nitrosamines are highly reactive chemicals that may cause a number of adverse effects, including cancer. 3-Amino-2-cyclohexen-1-one can also be used for postsynthetic modification reactions on other organic compounds. The mechanism for this process is not yet fully understood but it is believed that the trifluoromethyl group plays an important role in these reactions.Formula:C6H9NOPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:111.14 g/mol
