CAS:(2S)-4,4-Difluoropyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid is a low potency μ-opioid receptor agonist. It is a neutral protonated molecule with a pKa of 6.8 and a hydrophobic effect. This drug has been shown to be effective in the treatment of cancer, as well as for pain relief in humans. (2S)-4,4-Difluoropyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid binds to the human protein and selectively activates it without activating other receptors or ion channels. It has also been shown to activate signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3).
