It has been used in single-crystal x-ray diffraction analysis to investigate the interconnection of water molecules. 4-(4H-1,2,4-Triazol-4-yl)aniline has also been used in x-ray diffraction analysis for determining the crystallographic structure of a molecule. This compound emits light when excited by an electron beam or other type of radiation.
