(S)-(-)-7,7'-Bis(diphenylphosphino)-2,2',3,3'-tetrahydro-1,1'-spiroblindene is a ligand that can be prepared from the reaction of ethanol and sodium in benzene. The ligand is used in preparative chemistry to synthesize rhodium complexes. The ligand has been shown to produce a chiral product with an enantiomeric purity of >99% when used with an amine or other nucleophile.
